About this work

Photo album with 16 leaves containing a total of 71 photos. The album contains 8 cabinet photos and 61 cartes-de-visite in passe-partouts framed with gold lines, 1 loose cabinet photo at the front of the album, and a miniature portrait inserted into the passe-partout of photo RP-F-F00821-AH. Not all passe-partouts in the album are filled. The album contains 63 portraits, 3 photographic reproductions of paintings, 2 scenes from the Passion Play in Oberammergau in 1871, 2 photos of sculptures, and 1 photo of the Groothoofdspoort in Dordrecht. Portrayed are artists, including Petrus Franciscus Greive and Johann Georg Mezger, members of the Dutch Royal House, and some actors and actresses. The identity of some portrayed persons is unknown. The photos were made by various photographers, including J.W.F. Offenberg, Albert Greiner, and Wegner & Mottu.
