About this work

Photo album in a brown imitation leather cover with a snakeskin pattern. The spine is threaded with a cord featuring two wooden beads. The album contains 24 album sheets separated by green parchment. These are views of streets, houses, gates, parks, canals, and waterworks in Amsterdam and adjacent villages at the time, such as Durgerdam, Nieuwendam, Diemen, Sloten, and Nieuwer-Amstel. Several photographs appear to be reprints; the original shots were likely made before 1900. The compiler is unknown but may be connected to the building at Eerste Helmersstraat 110 in Amsterdam, which appears multiple times in the album.
