About this work

Photo album in a red cover. The title on the front cover is decorated with plant motifs in gold stamping and black. The endpapers have a motif of flower vases in green and black. The album contains twelve cardboard sheets and twelve photographs, each with a red frame. These are city views of Amsterdam with English captions that are often literal translations from Dutch ('Gentlemans canal' for Herengracht, etc.). Featured in the images are: the Royal Palace, the Beurs van Zocher, the Waag on the Nieuwmarkt, the Montelbaanstoren, the Rijksmuseum, the Amstel Hotel, and the Nicolaaskerk.
