About this work

Interior of the fermentation shed Aneta Mineh where workers (probably Chinese contract laborers) are sorting tobacco leaves in the sorting room under the supervision of European overseers. On the tobacco plantation Helvetia of the Deli Maatschappij on Sumatra. Part of a travel album with photographs of activities and sights on Sumatra and Java and of the journey to and from the Dutch East Indies.
