About this work
Portrait bust to the left of Juan Domingo de Zunyga y Fonseca, Count of Monterey and Governor of the Southern Netherlands. The Count is bareheaded and clad in armor. The portrait is set in a circular frame and is unveiled by an allegorical female figure with a burning torch. The stone plaque on which the portrait rests is decorated with a coat of arms and a relief. Next to the portrait stands a plumed helmet, directly below it lies a scepter. This print forms the pendant of the portrait of Prince William III.
