About this work
A chained man looks at a scene in which Christ frees two believing men from their sins and their chains. Their trust in God enables them to live in virtue and guides them on the right path to eternal life, which is depicted in the background. As an example, a biblical scene is cited: the shepherd boy David won the fight against the great Goliath through his steadfast faith.
