About this work
A statue of Hercules with his son Telephus on his arm. Over Hercules' shoulder hangs his lion skin and the child plays with the head of the lion. On the inscription on the pedestal of the statue Hercules is associated with the Roman emperor Commodus who tried to equal Hercules' courage and strength.
