About this work

Two men sit in a room at a table on which many coins, two books and a purse lie. One of the men has a small scale in his hand, the other is attacked from behind by Death (in the form of a skeleton) with an arrow. On the wall hangs a clock. In the foreground stands a money chest, in which a figurine representing Charity lies at the top. Below the representation, space is left for an inscription.
