About this work

Satirical print on the fall of Napoleon in 1814. The Emperor, struck by lightning, falls from the scales marked 'Unity of the Peoples' and is held by the hand of God in the clouds. On the other scale stands Europe holding a map of Europe, a Bible, and a cornucopia filled with flowers and fruit by God. In the map, a flower is stuck at Paris, referring to the Peace of Paris of 30 May 1814.
