About this work
Portrait of Dirck Volckertsz. Coornhert surrounded by clouds and ten burning hearts held by hands, each accompanied by Bible verses. Below the portrait a heart with the All-Seeing Eye from which ears of corn emerge, also with Bible verses. Above the portrait two putti holding a palm branch. At the bottom the Amsterdam city arms, a scroll and a balance with three weights on each side. Above that, to the left the sun and to the right the moon.
