About this work

The Three Fates in a landscape. The standing Fate Clotho holds the distaff, with in her other hand the raw flax. The seated Lachesis, seen from the back, holds the spindle and measures the thread. The left Fate, the old Atropos, cuts the thread with a pair of scissors.
