Shepherdess Silvia sits with her shepherd's staff on a rock, while shepherd Coridon kneels before her. His shepherd's staff and hat lie on the ground. To the right stand three sheep, one of which drinks from a stream. At the bottom in the margin five columns with each four lines in Latin.
