Allegory on the Second Centenary of the Siege of Alkmaar, 1773

Vignette with an allegory on the second centenary of the Siege of Alkmaar 1573-1773. On the right, the Dutch Maiden, seated on a recumbent lion, in her right hand a lance upon which the liberty cap; with her left hand on the coat of arms of the city of Alkmaar, upon which a putto places a wreath. At the feet of the Maiden, a second putto is seated with the privilege of the woman Jacoba of April 1426. On the left, a third putto, with a wreath by an altar, upon which a yoke, a mask, and a book with the inscription "Aristocracy" are burning.
