About this work
A female figure as personification of contentment, with a hand mirror in her right hand which she looks into and under her left arm a bowl with valuables such as a necklace and coins. In the background Alexander the Great visits Diogenes in his tub, who will ask if the emperor wants to step out of his sun in answer to what he wishes. Print from a series of 41 emblems.
