About this work
The blind leader walks into the water and takes his equally blind follower with him into his fall. Depiction of the proverb and the parable: 'If one blind man leads another, they both fall into a pit'. Meaning: when the incompetent advise the incompetent, it goes wrong. Reference to Matt. 15:14. In the background a house and again two blind men falling. Below the image the meaning of the proverb in a five-line verse; on the right in Latin and on the left in French.
