About this work
Portrait of Charles Gustav, King of Sweden. At the top on the clouds Charles Gustav seated in a carriage with a scepter in his hand. The carriage is driven by Minerva and drawn by two eagles. To the left of the portrait King Gustav I of Sweden, who lifts a celestial globe and holds a spear of liberty. To the right of the portrait stands Gustav II Adolf, King of Sweden, dressed as Hercules with the globe on his shoulders, trampling snakes. On the top of the frame on the left sits Faith. On the right sits an allegorical figure with a caduceus and a rudder.
