Mary sits with the Christ child on her lap under a canopy. The Christ child holds an apple in his hand. Thomas à Kempis kneels before her, holding a rosary between his hands. On the ground an open book with the saying attributed to him - in Latin and Dutch - "With a book in a corner". At the top of the print the full motto in Latin. Below the print the date of death of Thomas à Kempis.
