About this work

The city of Antwerp seen from the Scheldt. At the top in the middle right the Antwerp city maiden seated on clouds. To her left Mercury. On the other side merchants, one of whom offers her a tankard and a money purse. At the top in the middle left the city maiden between Peace (with palm branch) and an allegorical figure of Plenty with a cornucopia, and Justice with blindfold and scales.
