About this work

The young Giovanni de Medici, called 'dalle Bande Nere', is surrounded during a street fight on the Bridge of Angels by members of the Orsini family. He swings wildly with his sword and drives the besiegers to flight. The print has a Latin inscription and is part of a series about the family history of the De' Medici family.
