A group of women chat around the hearth in a water and fire cellar, with a cat at their side. On the table behind them stands a coffee mill. An old woman enters with a stove to buy coals. Behind her, a young woman walks down the cellar steps from the street, carrying a pan and a water kettle to buy hot water.
