About this work

The Walls of Babylon, built in circles. To the left rear a large building with tower. In the foreground Queen Semiramis as an Amazon on horseback. Armed with arrow and bow she is in combat with a lion. In the background the Hanging Gardens of Babylon: a botanical and architectural masterpiece. The print has a Latin inscription and is part of a series on the eight wonders of the world.
