About this work

Allegory in honor of Duchess Isabella Clara Eugenia after the shooting of the parrot in Brussels on 15 May 1615. Isabella seated on a throne, left Apollo, right Diana. In the foreground three women (Panthasilia, Tomiris, and Camilla) kneeling offer the princess quivers and bows. Behind the throne and on the ground a carpet decorated with scattered flowers. With an inscription of 8 lines in Latin and 8 lines in French.
