About this work
Art viewing by members of the brotherhood of Saint Luke, founded in 1736 by Aert Schouman, an association of art lovers and amateurs for Dordrecht and surroundings. At a table, several gentlemen lean over books and papers. Four smoking gentlemen look from a distance at a painting on an easel. Next to them stands a servant with a tray of glasses. In a square border frame, over which a drapery hangs. In the center at the top, a round open cartouche; at the bottom, the coat of arms of the St. Luke Guild.
