About this work

Two scenes on a plate. Above: In the prison of Antioch, St. Lucian lies chained to the ground. He uses his chest as a table and blesses the bread and wine placed upon it, thus celebrating the Last Supper with the other prisoners sitting around him. Below: Celebration of the Last Supper by the first Christians. The believers sit around a long table while one of them breaks the bread.
