About this work
A shepherdess sits on a braying donkey, which is crossing a stream, kicking with its hind legs. She holds a branch above her head and looks at a dog that jumps at the hind legs of her donkey. A shepherd with a second donkey stands at the water's edge. In the water stand two sheep.
