About this work

In stormy weather a rider flees from Death, represented as a skeleton, which comes after him on a winged horse with a horse skull for a head. Death fires a shot with a pistol held in his left hand. In the background a battle. Three lines in Latin below the image in the middle, with two lines in Dutch on the left and right.
