About this work

Saint Francis of Paola kneels before an altar, his arms outstretched. He looks up at an angel showing him a shield with the text: "Charitas". Above him on a cloud sits a choir of angels with an open songbook. At the very top the tetragram, symbol of God the Father, surrounded by rays. The title of the print is a Bible quote from 2 Kings 22 in Latin. In the margin a four-line inscription in Latin.
