About this work
In a vast hilly landscape, the shepherds and walkers do not notice how Icarus flies too close to the sun. Due to the heat, his wings melt and he falls to the ground. His father Daedalus flies beneath him and sees the accident. On the left, on a hill, a walled city with a castle. Through the valley flows a river where two fishermen have cast their lines.
