About this work
The old woman urges her daughter to get out of bed. She accuses her of oversleeping because she reads too many books. On the young woman's nightstand lies the novel 'Une heure trop tard' by Alphonse Karr. According to the mother, that book is also the reason she now gets up an hour too late.
