About this work

Baptism ceremony of Prince Alexander of Orange-Nassau, the second son of Willem II and Anna Paulowna, in the Great Church in The Hague on 24 August 1818. In the middle of the church stand King Willem I, Prince Frederik, Princess Anna Paulowna, Queen Wilhelmina of Prussia, Princess Marianne and the crown prince, the father and the future King Willem II, who holds the child at the baptism. The baptism is administered by the court chaplain ds. Krieger. The church is further filled with guests.
