About this work
The sitter sits at a table and leans on it with her right elbow. On the table lie a tablecloth and a book. The sitter wears a dress with a pleated skirt and a lace underdress. Below the portrait is her name. Part of a series of twelve portraits after daguerreotypes and twelve city views. On the occasion of the Music Festival celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Society for the Promotion of Music in Rotterdam, 12-15 July 1854.
