About this work

The sitter sits at a table with a tablecloth and two books on it. She wears a dress with a lace collar and flowers in her hair. Her right hand is at her head. Under the portrait is her name. Part of a series of twelve portraits after daguerreotypes and twelve city views. On the occasion of the Music Festival celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Society for the Promotion of Music in Rotterdam, 12-15 July 1854.
