About this work
Mythological depiction, made for a book edition of the plays of Paul Scarron. The giants are crushed by the lightning bolts which Jupiter, sitting on an eagle, throws at them from the sky. In the background the Olympians have gathered on a cloud bank, ready for the counterattack.
