About this work
The Christ Child sleeps peacefully in his cradle. At the head of the cradle an angel with the instruments of the Passion. Mary, Joseph, Elizabeth and the young John the Baptist sit around the cradle. In the foreground a basket of fruit and a puppy. In the margin a six-line caption, in two columns, in Latin.
