About this work

Christ gives the keys to the kingdom of heaven to the shepherd Peter kneeling before him. The Holy Spirit in the form of a dove descends upon the latter. From heaven cherubim look on. In the margin below the title from John 21 a two-line Bible quote from Matthew 16 in Latin.
