About this work
In a cave the kneeling Anthony prays with folded hands before an open book resting on a skull. The hermit is surrounded by all kinds of devils and monsters that try to distract him. In the air a frog and a bird, sitting on flying fish, hold a game. To the left in the foreground a devil in a monk's hood with a rosary.
