About this work
The Company of Volunteer Hunters of the University of Leiden at Boutersem in battle on the evening of 11 August 1831. In the center, lieutenant-general Meijer on horseback, behind him first lieutenant D.J. den Beer Poortugael. On the left, the wounded hunter (C. Leemans) is being treated by Dr. van Leede; on the right, the tirailleurs under first lieutenant Dekker. The names of the persons depicted are listed in the caption.
