Portrait in oval frame of Don Pedro Enríquez de Acevedo, Count of Fuentes and Stadtholder of the Southern Netherlands, in armor. Bust to the left. Around the portrait frame various figures from Roman Antiquity. The allegorical personification of Time pushes together with Death the personifications of the Roman Empire, the Persian Empire, the Greek Empire and the Empire of the Medes into the abyss of eternity. From this eternity Mercurius, bottom right, retrieves antique statues. Hercules, middle right, gives a pot of coins to an enslaved (?) man while Minerva, patron of the arts, looks on approvingly. Center top stands the bust of Antiquity, crowned with a laurel wreath. A phoenix has nested in her head, the sign of revival and eternity.
