About this work
The sitter, possibly an Indonesian ruler, sits on a chair wearing a military (navy?) uniform with a fringed sash and holds a sabre in his left hand. With his right hand, he rests on his thigh. On his head, he wears a knotted cloth (blangkon or udeng?).
