About this work
The Bride of Christ (the Church) sits on a throne in a temple. Christ stands with his cross outside in a garden and through a window his hand touches her shoulder. In the background spectators watch a high priest preaching about the Tables of the Law and a lamb is sacrificed on an altar. The print has a Latin inscription about the Song of Solomon.
