About this work

On the left stands King Artaxerxes I of Persia, son of Xerxes, standing with a scepter in his hand. In the background it can be seen how the city of Jerusalem was rebuilt under his rule. On the right stands King Darius II of Persia with a staff in his hand. In the background is a landscape in which Darius rides on horseback and hunts a stag. Below the image, explanatory texts in Latin.
