About this work

Portrait of the painter Antonio Allegri, known by the name Correggio. In one hand he holds a pair of gloves, the other hand rests on a book. At the bottom of the margin the crowned coats of arms of the Electors of Saxony, the name of their Royal Collection in Dresden, and the dimensions of the original painting in Italian and French.
