About this work
Christ hangs on the cross. John raises his arms in despair to heaven. At the foot of the cross the three Marys mourn together with the fainting Mary. At the bottom the monogram of Albrecht Dürer and the date of his print: 1508. Signed in the lower right: "Æ15".
