About this work

As an example of virtue and steadfastness Christ is depicted, praying in the garden of Gethsemane. Around him sleep Peter, John and James. From heaven an angel appears with a chalice. In the foreground four music-making courtiers, for whom this example is intended. Top left a coat of arms of a canon. The print has a title inscription in Dutch. Print from a book edition in which always a scene from the life of Christ is set opposite a worldly situation.
