About this work

In the foreground a carriage drawn by two horses carrying a light load: a courtier playing music. Above, as an example of bearing a heavy load, Christ falling while carrying his cross to Golgotha. Simon of Cyrene helps him carry it. Veronica offers him a cloth to wipe his sweat. Top right a coat of arms of a canon. The print has an inscription in Dutch. Print from a book publication in which a scene from the life of Christ is always set against a worldly situation.
