About this work
Christ hangs on the cross, which stands on a small hill. Mary Magdalene mourns at the foot of the hill, her ointment jar beside her. On the left next to the cross the sun, while on the right it thunders above the city of Jerusalem. In the frame in the margin a two-line inscription in Latin.
