About this work

While the landlord and his servants sleep, the landlord's enemy, the Devil, comes from the left to sow weeds among the sown grain. On the right, a horse-drawn carriage drives along a country road towards a village. Below the image, a two-line reference in Latin to the biblical text in Matt. 13:24.
