About this work

On the built-up bank of a river, the Archangel Raphael instructs Tobias to cut open the fish he has just caught to remove its heart, liver and gall. In the foreground to the left, Tobias and Raphael walk along a path. Tobias' dog accompanies them. At the bottom in the margin an explanatory one-line text in Latin.
