About this work
Portrait in an oval of Antonio Barceló, lieutenant-general of the Spanish Armada. Around the portrait an allegory of the Spanish bombardment of Algiers in 1783. A standing figure with helmet and spear tramples an Algerian. To the right a ship and under the portrait maritime objects including an anchor.
