About this work
Hercules fights with the river god Achelous who has taken the form of a bull. It concerns the favor of Deïanira the daughter of the river god Oeneus. Hercules breaks the bull's horns off. In the background is seen how nymphs fill one of the horns and use it as a cornucopia.
